James COMPSTON was a Private in the Civil War on the Union Side.  He served in the Provisional Enrolled Missouri Militia in the 3rd Regiment Provisional EMM in Company C.

Office of Adjutant General, Record of Service Card Civil War 1861-1865 Box 17 Reel s 00818

He enrolled and was organised on May 13 1863 at Weston MO by General WP Hall.  He was relieved from duty on September 29 1863 by Col. Williams.

Does anyone recognise James or know of his descendants?  I would love to add him to my website.
