You can view the Somerset Heritage Centre’s parish record holdings at http://www1.somerset.gov.uk/archives/  then select “online catalogue & index” from the menu .  You then have to click through to “Parish Summaries” .

What is really worth browsing though are their 1200 historic postcards, engravings and views preserved in the collections of the Somerset Record Office. About 200 photographs came from the archive of Francis Frith and Company of Reigate. The Frith photographs date generally from the period 1895-1920 and are high-quality large-format prints contemporary with the original negatives from which they were made.

Francis Frith set up Britain’s first photographic company in 1850, and by the beginning of the 20th century had established his firm as pre-eminent in capturing vivid and technically superb photograph’s of Britain’s towns and villages.
