http://www.unithistories.com/ this website gives a huge amount of history about individuals in the war.  It aims to give a full spectrum of data on World War II fighting units, including details on organization, commanders, and literature.

If you click on the tab ‘units’ or go to http://www.unithistories.com/units_index/default.asp?file=../units_index/units.asp you can see a good listing of all the units fighting.

http://www.unithistories.com/units_index/default.asp?file=../units_index/units.asp  gives the Highland infantry division.  It is a brilliant site as it lists all the dates that changes took place in the divisions
