‘The Story of Brough-under-Stainmore’ by Margaret Gowling

‘The Story of Brough-under-Stainmore’ by Margaret Gowling has just been published and I only got as far as the Foreword when I spotted Cuthbert Cumpston.  You can read more about him and his family on my website

http://www.cumpston.org.uk/#/brough-cumpstons/4533669886  Also if you check out the photograph  on my front page of this blog you will be able to see Wild Boar Fell in Mallerstang, not far from Brough.

This is the book I have been drafting myself for the last 5 years so congratulations to Margaret for getting there first.  There are quite a few Cumpstons in the index and it will make a good read over Christmas.
