‘The Story of Brough-under-Stainmore’ by Margaret Gowling has just been published and I only got as far as the Foreword when I spotted Cuthbert Cumpston.  You can read more about him and his family on my website

This is the book I have been drafting myself for the last 5 years so congratulations to Margaret for getting there first.  There are quite a few Cumpstons in the index and it will make a good read over Christmas.
