James COMPSTON was a Private in the Civil War on the Union Side. He served in the Provisional Enrolled Missouri Militia in the 3rd Regiment Provisional EMM in Company C.

He enrolled and was organised on May 13 1863 at Weston MO by General WP Hall. He was relieved from duty on September 29 1863 by Col. Williams.
