Google timeline to help research

Google Search

Go to Google at http://www.google.co.uk/ This is important – don’t just click on the browser button on your computer or you get a personalised Google page and then can’t see the icon.  Enter the name you want to search for and press enter as normal.

Underneath the search box, top left hand side is a little box saying ‘show options’

Click on the + and down the left hand column appears a whole list of options.  Scroll down to ‘Timeline’

Click on and wow! What appears next is a full-time line of items about your name in date order.  I have found items here that have not appeared in other Google searches.  I must have seen that icon millions of times and never even noticed it.

Try it out and let me know what you find!
