A few months ago Michael Thompson put together a finding aid listing nineteenth century Irish Registration Districts (aka Superintendent Registrar’s Districts, originally Poor Law Unions), the sub-districts (aka Registrar’s Districts, originally Dispensary Districts) they contain, and the Registration Districts adjacent to them, for use in researching civil registration records. http://genealogyresearch.org.uk . It can be downloaded as a searchable PDF file.
The contents were researched from publicly available sources, backed up by the excellent “A New Genealogical Atlas of Ireland” by Brian Mitchell. The finding aid does not list townlands, but note that these are searchable via the excellent website http://www.seanruad.com .
