The site is called ‘Australian Royalty’ because Marion Purnell is descended from convicts. Her direct ancestors, William Purnell, Bridget Welsh/Murray, Samuel James, Simon Moulds and Ann Davis, were all transported as convicts.
As she developed the site she inter-connected many convict, free immigrant and indigenous families. Currently, she will include anyone who she can connect in a familial relationship.
