Today I found an unusual record for (1/2/2) Jane Foster CUMPSTONE age 14 b. c 1825 who appeared before the Lyndsey Sessions in Lincolnshire at Kirton on 5th July 1839 charged with larceny. It described her ‘ degree of instruction’ as ‘Imp’
She was acquitted ‘no bill’ (Source Citation: Class: HO 27; Piece: 58; Page: 235)
Jane died a spinster in January Q 1874 at Hull in the East Riding of Yorkshire. She appears in my book ‘The Cumpstons of Hull, Master Mariners and their families’ on page 38, the grand-daughter of William Cumpston and Millisint Watson.
