Tonight I found an entry for Ruth Cumpston in this book. She was recording living at 1 Wilfred Street, Carlisle. (Page 55). Date of Publication: 1884. This address still exists today so on my next visit to Carlisle I shall stop by and photograph it. 
In the meantime here is a photo of number 2 which should be on the opposite side of the road!
