The objective is to provide free Internet searches of baptism, marriage, and burial records, that have been transcribed from parish and non-conformist registers of the U.K.
FreeREG http://www.freereg.org.uk/ is a companion project to FreeBMD (a database of the GRO birth, marriage and death indexes from 1837) http://www.freebmd.org.uk/ and FreeCEN http://www.freecen.org.uk/ (a database of census information).
The FreeREG database contains 2,796,003 Marriages, 7,807,862 Baptisms and 4,872,779 Burials. The last update started on Tue 5 Apr 2011 and was completed on Tue 5 Apr 2011.
