She has a brother Michael Compston in Calgary, Alberta. Her grandfather was Sydney Compston and his wife was Eva Punch. They were from the north of England (Cumbria she thinks).
They had 3 children, Catharine’s father Charles Roy Compston, Elizabeth and Gertrude.
Her father Roy (Charles Roy but he used Roy) was a captain in the Canadian army during WW II. He met her mother in the UK and they married at Taplow in 1943.
